Towel Packaging Boxes.

An aperture cut in the front panel that lets a shopper feel the pile without opening the pack. Towels are bought on hand feel, and photography cannot replace it, so the opening beats a clear window for this product. We size and position it over the folded face so the exposed area shows the weave and colour together.

A clear window film is the alternative where a retailer wants the pack sealed.

A printed sleeve for single towels, a box for gift sets and multi-packs. The band around a folded towel costs less than a carton and shows more product, and since towels survive transit without protection the board only has to look good and stack. Sets that leave the store by hand go in E-flute with a reinforced carry handle, because a bath sheet set is heavier than it appears.

Cotton wrapped tight without air can sour, so the pack is not sealed. The touch opening or window doubles as ventilation, and where the board covers the towel completely we cut discreet vents. It also lets the towel recover its loft after being compressed for freight, so it looks full on the shelf rather than flat.

Full CMYK with a room or bathroom setting is the usual artwork, with the GSM figure large on the front panel. GSM is how shoppers compare density, and it goes on the face rather than buried in the care panel. Matte lamination suits hotel-quality ranges, foil detail marks out gift sets, and kraft natural is the choice for organic cotton lines.

Size in centimetres is printed alongside GSM, because towel size names are not standardised between brands.

Common boxes run 12 by 9 by 3 inches and 14 by 10 by 4 inches, sized to the compressed fold. Towels are squeezed for freight and recover on the shelf, so the box is measured from the pressed stack with a small allowance for loft, and the fold pattern is agreed first because it sets the footprint.

Freight is charged on volume, so we keep the pack as tight as the fold allows.

We run from 500 boxes or sleeves per design. Tiers above 1,000 bring the unit cost down and the run can go to 100,000. Sleeves and boxes are separate dielines, so a range using both is quoted as two orders.

Standard production is 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, with 5 to 7 business days available on rush. A sample takes 5 to 7 business days and is the right time to check the touch opening lands on the pile and not on a hem.

The sample fee is netted off the production order, and dieline work costs nothing.

Yes, folding boxboard and E-flute both go into ordinary paper recycling. A sleeve uses the least board of the three formats and is the easiest to recycle, since there is no window film to separate. Where a window is specified we can supply it in a film that peels away cleanly, or swap it for a touch opening and skip the film entirely.
