Wrapping Paper Tubes.

Every roll needs a core to wind onto. The outer tube is the display and protection pack, and it is optional. Many brands sell the roll on its core with a band, and add the outer for gift sets.

Against bending, not stacking. A tube that is 30 to 40 inches long fails by bowing across an unsupported span, which is what happens in a retail bin and a parcel.

The core also has to stay light, because the finished roll is what the customer carries. We set the ply count to hold the roll straight without adding weight it does not need.

Cut to your roll width, plus the depth of the end closures if you are using an outer. Common builds are 2 by 30 inches and 2.5 by 40 inches.

Cores are cut flush to the roll. Outers are cut a little longer to take the plugs or caps.

Yes. The outer takes a full-wrap litho print along its whole length, which is a long, uninterrupted brand surface. Cores are usually plain or carry a one-colour mark.

The wrap is printed flat and bonded around the body, so a pattern continues cleanly around the seam.

Plugs that grip the inner wall, or paper caps that fit over the ends. Plugs hold a roll in during transit. Caps keep the pack all-fibre.

For a gift outer that is opened once, caps are usually enough. For a tube that ships loose, we recommend a plug at least in the base.

The core and the outer are both wound recycled-content board, and they go in the kerbside fibre stream. With paper caps the whole pack recycles as one item.

Plastic plugs are removed first. Since the paper on the roll is itself a fibre product, an all-paper tube keeps the whole thing in one bin.

300 units in a single length and diameter. Plain cores reach that minimum with no print at all, and printed outers start at the same figure.

Freight on a long tube is a bigger share of the cost than on a short one, so we quote delivery with the order.

7 to 10 business days after approval for printed outers, and often faster for plain cores. Rush is 5 to 7 business days, and a sample takes 5 to 7.

The sample is for checking stiffness over the full length with your roll inside, which no spec sheet can show.
