It is designed to be kept, and that changes almost every decision.

A standard popcorn box is engineered to cost as little as possible and be thrown away within the hour. A collectible bucket is sold at a premium, taken home, washed, reused and displayed — so it needs rigid construction, a lining that tolerates repeat use, and reinforced rim and base, which are the two points that fail first.

The print bar is higher too. A disposable box is glanced at in a dark auditorium; a collectible is examined in daylight and photographed. Finishes like foil, matte lamination and spot UV earn their cost here in a way they would not on a box.

Commercially it also behaves differently: it generates revenue and footfall rather than being absorbed as a cost of service.

We manufacture to the artwork you supply, and we will ask you to confirm that you hold the rights to use it.

Film, television, character and brand properties are licensed intellectual property. Producing packaging carrying them without a licence exposes you — the brand selling them — to the rights holder, and that is a risk worth resolving before anything goes to print rather than after.

If you have a licence in place, send us the artwork and any brand guidelines that come with it; licensors are usually specific about colour, logo placement and approvals, and building that in from the start avoids reprints.

If you do not, original designs work just as well commercially. Venue-branded, seasonal and event buckets are collected enthusiastically and need nobody's permission.
