Disposable Paper Cutlery

The plastic-free utensil set — judged entirely on whether it holds up to real food.

Fibre cutlery only works if it stays rigid through a meal. Length, thickness and coating decide that, and testing with actual hot food is the only reliable check.

What We Make

The full kit of capabilities.

Compressed Laminated Construction
Multiple plies pressed into a dense structure that resists bending.
Moisture-Resistant Treatment
Slows the water penetration that makes cheap paper cutlery fold.
Full Compostability
Disposed of with the food waste on it, no separation needed.
Individual Wrapping
Hygiene wrap for delivery, and the largest printable surface on the product.
Printed and Embossed Handles
Branding on the utensil itself.
Birch Wood Alternative
Stiffer option where cutting force matters.
CPLA Alternative
Closest to plastic performance while staying compostable.
Fork, Knife, Spoon and Sets
Individually or as wrapped cutlery kits with a napkin.
Cutting Steak or Hard Crusts
A paper knife cannot apply that force. If your menu needs real cutting, specify birch or CPLA — we will say so rather than sell you the wrong product.
Long Immersion in Hot Liquid
A utensil left standing in hot soup will eventually soften. Paper cutlery is for eating with, not for stirring and leaving in the bowl.

Measure Twice

Sizing & dieline.

Every Disposable Paper Cutlery is cut to a dieline built around your product — not pulled off a shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.

How to measure
01
Measure the product

Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points — not the box you happen to use today.

02
Add clearance

Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.

03
Give us the order

We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.

✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product — we measure it and build the dieline.

What It Costs

Pricing & minimums.

Disposable Paper Cutlery is priced per specification rather than from a fixed list — the same box in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.

What moves the price
Quantity

The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.

Material and thickness

Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.

Finishing

Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.

Print coverage

Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.

Inserts and hardware

Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.

Timeline

Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

— Frequently Asked Questions —

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about Disposable Paper Cutlery.

Cheap paper cutlery does. Well-made paper cutlery resists it for the length of a normal meal.

The construction is what decides it. Paper cutlery is not cut from a sheet — it is built from multiple layers of food-grade paper laminated together and compressed under heat and pressure, producing something much denser than paper. The failure mode is moisture working between those layers, softening the laminate until a tine bends.

Three things separate good from bad: the number and quality of the plies, how densely they are compressed, and whether there is a moisture-resistant treatment. That is where the price difference sits, and it is worth paying for.

The honest limits: paper cutlery is fine for the length of a meal, and it will soften if left standing in hot soup for a long period. If that is how your customers use it, wooden birch or CPLA are stiffer.

It depends almost entirely on how much force your food requires.

Paper — fine for salads, bowls, desserts and most hot mains. Fully compostable with food waste on it, and the most natural-looking. The cheapest of the three.

Birch wood — noticeably stiffer, handles cutting better, and has a distinctive look that suits artisan and natural positioning. Some people dislike the texture against their teeth, which is worth knowing.

CPLA — crystallised PLA. Closest to conventional plastic in stiffness and heat tolerance, and the best choice if your menu genuinely needs cutting. Compostable, but usually requires industrial composting.

Tell us what is on the menu. If people are cutting through anything with resistance, paper is the wrong answer and we will say so.
