Finishing

Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.

Inserts and hardware

Everything you need to know about Gourmet Food Gift Boxes.

A fitted insert, and for mixed food gifts it is not optional.

The difficulty with hampers is that the contents have nothing in common. A glass jar, a bottle of oil, a bag of coffee and a packet of biscuits have completely different weights, shapes and fragilities. Packed loose, the heavy items move during transit and the fragile ones lose.

An insert gives each item its own cavity so nothing shifts relative to anything else. Two constructions are common:

  • Die-cut board inserts — cost-effective, precise, good for regular shapes.
  • Moulded pulp cradles — better shock absorption, particularly for glass bottles and jars.

Send us the actual items, or their exact dimensions and weights, and we will design the cavity layout around them. This is where most of the engineering in a gift box actually sits, and it is worth spending the time on.
