The insert holds each jar, bottle and packet in its own cavity, so nothing shifts or knocks against the glass in transit. Mixed contents have different weights and shapes, and in a loose box the heaviest item rolls into everything else.

We die-cut the cavities to the actual items you send us. Held in fixed positions, the same products read as a chosen set when the lid comes off, which is why we don't supply this box for loose packing.

For glass bottles and heavier jars, we would go with moulded pulp. Pulp is formed around each item, so it absorbs a knock that a flat board cavity passes straight through to the glass.

Die-cut board still works well for packets, tins and lighter jars. Plenty of hampers use both, with a board insert for the dry goods and pulp cradles where the bottles sit, and we'll plan that layout from the items you send.

Glass and liquid make these boxes heavier than most gift packaging, and the base is where that weight sits. A plain greyboard floor can bow when a full box is lifted, and a bowed base loosens the insert above it.

We add structure underneath so the floor stays flat under load. We also plan lid retention, since people tend to pick a gift box up by the lid and a loose fit lets the base drop away.

Matte lamination on the printed wrap is the most requested finish, with soft-touch as the step up. The wrap paper covers the greyboard, so it is where the colour and the finish live.

Hot foil in gold, copper or rose gold is the usual seasonal detail, and an emboss or deboss adds a brand mark you can feel. Inside print is under-used: a printed interior shows the moment the lid lifts, before anyone reaches the food.

Yes, if the box itself stays undated and the year or occasion goes on a printed sleeve. Sleeves are a cheap component, so leftover stock isn't written off when the holiday passes.

The rigid box, insert and finish stay the same from run to run. It helps with timing too, because the core boxes can be made well ahead and only the sleeves wait for final seasonal artwork.

Common sizes are 10 × 8 × 3 in and 14 × 10 × 4 in, given as length by width by depth. In practice the insert sets the size, because the items have to be laid out before the outer box can be drawn.

We allow wall space between glass pieces and then size the box around that layout. Send the jars, bottles and packets going in, with their heights, and we'll return a dieline for the insert and the box together.

Gift box orders start at 500 per design. The unit price eases down as the quantity rises, and a run can go as high as 100,000.

For seasonal gifting, most brands order the whole season in one run so the boxes and inserts all match. If you plan an undated box with a dated sleeve, tell us and we'll quote the sleeve as its own line.

Production takes 7 to 10 business days after proof approval, but seasonal gift boxes need booking well ahead of that. Gifting dates don't move and capacity fills, so we don't take late seasonal orders on this format.

A rush slot of 5 to 7 business days exists when the calendar allows it. Samples take 5 to 7 business days, and we credit the sample fee to the production order, so build both into the plan before artwork is final.
