Description
Overview

Necklace Boxes

Long, shallow and prone to tangling — the pad has to hold a chain in place.

A chain left loose tangles into a knot in transit. Notched pads or hook slots hold the necklace laid out exactly as it was presented.

Crafted to specification

Every detail. Intentional.

Loose chains tangle

Notched pads prevent it.

Pendants need a bay

So they do not scratch.

Longer than most jewellery

Which sets the footprint.

Lining stops plating marks

Flock or velvet.

Hinged for presentation

Opens and stays open.

Kept in a drawer for years

Durability over novelty.

Measure Twice

Sizing & dieline.

Every Necklace Boxes is cut to a dieline built around your product — not pulled off a shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.

How to measure
01
Measure the product

Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points — not the box you happen to use today.

02
Add clearance

Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.

03
Give us the order

We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.

✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product — we measure it and build the dieline.

What It Costs

What moves the price
Quantity

The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.

Material and thickness

Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.

Finishing

Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.

Print coverage

Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.

Inserts and hardware

Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.

Timeline

Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

— Frequently Asked Questions —

Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about Necklace Boxes.

A flat velvet or satin pad with a pendant-holding notch at center and a channel or clip for chain organization is the standard for fine jewelry necklaces. The chain lays in a gentle arc across the pad with the pendant displayed at the center visual focal point. For delicate chains, a lightly adhesive pad that holds the chain in position during transport prevents tangling completely. The insert solves the practical problem while creating the display presentation.
The box should accommodate the chain in a half-circle or gentle arc display position — the box width determines the arc radius. For a 16-inch chain displayed in an arc, the box width should be at least 4 inches for a natural arc; for 18-inch chains, 5 inches. Pendants with width add to the horizontal requirement — measure the pendant at its widest point and ensure the box width provides adequate display space around it.
Card-back display boxes — where the necklace mounts on a card with the chain held by a molded hook and the pendant centered — work well for jewelry case display because they're flat, space-efficient, and allow multiple pieces to be displayed in a tray simultaneously. For individual jewelry case display, a box with a stand insert that elevates the pendant at a viewing angle creates a more premium presentation.
