Olive Oil Boxes
Light degrades oil, which makes the carton a preservation feature as well as presentation.
Quality oil sells in dark glass or tins precisely because light accelerates rancidity. A carton around a bottle is doing the same work, and saying so is a legitimate claim.

Every detail. Intentional.

Sizing & dieline.
We cut Olive Oil Boxes to a dieline built around your product instead of pulling a stock size off the shelf. Send us the length, width and height of the item (or the item itself) and we return a measured dieline, free, before you commit to anything.
Length, width and height of the item itself, at its widest points. Measure the product, not the box you happen to use today.
Allow 2–4 mm on each axis for a snug fit, and more if you are adding foam, a pillow insert or tissue.
We quote as Length × Width × Height. Tell us whether you are working in millimetres or inches and we match it.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product and we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
We price Olive Oil Boxes per specification rather than from a fixed list, because the same build in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Olive Oil Boxes.
The carton's main job is keeping light off the bottle, and a window would let it in. Quality oil sells in dark glass and tins for the same reason, and a closed box blocks light completely for as long as the bottle sits on a lit shelf.
We don't offer window panels on this format. The bottle can still appear in the artwork, or the box can open to reveal it.
A fitted insert grips the bottle at the base and shoulder so it can't shift or chip. Die-cut board cradles are standard for retail, and for direct-to-consumer shipping we'd go with a moulded pulp cradle, which absorbs shock far better on a parcel route.
Tall glass chips at the neck and shoulder first, so the collar of the insert is shaped around that area. We don't supply these boxes for loose-packed bottles.
Rigid greyboard suits gifting and single-estate oils, and folding boxboard suits the retail shelf. The rigid box is non-collapsing and carries premium finishes well, while a folding carton costs less and uses an auto-bottom that takes the weight of a full bottle.
Both keep light out fully. Either can have a barrier-lined interior, so a drip on the bottle doesn't stain through the board.
Matte lamination is the default for good oil, with hot foil and emboss or deboss on estate and gift ranges. Uncoated kraft suits artisan and organic brands.
Plan panel space for harvest date, variety, estate and acidity, because buyers of good oil read those details. A short line explaining that the box blocks light is something most brands leave off, and it helps justify the price.
A 500ml bottle usually takes a 2.8 × 2.8 × 10 in box, and a 750ml takes 3.2 × 3.2 × 12 in. Bottle shapes vary between marasca, dorica and round styles, so we size from your actual bottle with the insert included.
Height matters most, since the cap needs clearance under the top flap. A tube format is available too if you want a cylindrical pack instead of a carton.
Yes, twin and multi-bottle sets are a big part of oil gifting. A divided cradle keeps the two bottles apart so they can't knock together, and the outer is usually rigid greyboard to handle the weight.
Oil and vinegar pairs fit the same way if the bottles are similar heights. For gift sets that ship by parcel, we'd make the divider in moulded pulp.
Our minimum for this format is 500 boxes. Tiered pricing applies above 1,000, and volumes run as high as 100,000.
Many producers order around a single harvest so the run lines up with the bottles going out that season. If the harvest date changes each year, it can sit on a small label so the rest of the box carries over to the next pressing.
Boxes are produced in 7 to 10 business days from proof approval, or in 5 to 7 business days on rush. Before bulk, a sample with the insert fitted takes 5 to 7 business days.
We credit the sample fee to your production order. The insert is cut to your bottle, so it helps to send one along with the artwork.
