Paper Nacho Boats is priced per specification rather than from a fixed list — the same box in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

Because cheese sauce behaves differently from fry oil, in two ways that both matter.
It pools instead of spreading. Fry oil drains across a surface and distributes. Cheese sauce is viscous — it sits in one spot on the base and works on that spot for the entire time the tray is in use. That concentrated exposure defeats barriers that handle fries perfectly well.
The portion is heavier. Chips plus sauce plus toppings is a lot of weight for a shallow tray carried in one hand, usually alongside a drink.
So nacho trays get a higher-caliper board and an upgraded PFAS-free grease barrier, and they are deeper than a plain boat.
If you want to avoid the problem rather than engineer around it, a two-compartment tray keeps the sauce in its own well — and it keeps the chips crisp, which customers notice more.
