Chilled produce sweats, so condensation forms on the outside of the bowl as well as the inside. Dressing and moisture attack the inner face from the first minute, and cabinet humidity attacks the outer face, which is why we run double-sided PE as standard. The board underneath is sized to stay rigid when the outside is damp and the bowl is full.

PLA lining is the compostable route where commercial composting exists.

A clear PET dome, treated anti-fog so the contents stay visible in a chilled cabinet. Salad sells on appearance, and a lid that mists over hides the one thing the customer is buying. The wide mouth under that lid is a practical point too: a narrow bowl pools the dressing and makes tossing impossible.

We keep the profile shallow rather than deep, so the leaves compress less under their own weight.

A separate pot, and we supply matched sealed dressing pots for exactly this reason. A dressed salad wilts in transit and a pre-dressed bowl is the biggest quality complaint in the format, so we do not recommend it for anything that travels. The pot sits under the dome or in the bag alongside.

That one decision has the most effect on how the salad arrives.

Kraft outer with a matte finish is the most requested combination, since it suits the fresh-food positioning most salad brands want. Full CMYK runs on the bowl wall below the lid line, and we hold Pantone spot colours across reprints. A printed sleeve or band carries ingredients and allergens without covering the window.

The anti-fog treatment on the lid is part of the finish spec rather than an extra.

By bulk volume rather than weight, because leaves are mostly air. The 24oz bowl is about 6 inches across and 2.5 inches deep, and the 32oz is 7 inches across and 3 inches deep. A 48oz step exists for sharing portions. Bowls are larger than they look on paper, so fill a sample with your actual recipe before deciding.

Diameter is measured at the rim, where the lid seats.

The standard schedule is 7 to 10 business days after artwork approval. Rush runs finish in 5 to 7 business days and samples are with you in 5 to 7 business days, so you can chill a filled bowl overnight and check the lid for fogging. Sample charges are credited on the production run.

Yes with PLA lining in place of the PE coating, provided your operator has commercial composting. Both linings handle chilled, wet contents, and the difference is end of life rather than performance in the cabinet. The PET lid is recyclable separately, and fibre options exist for plastic-free programmes.

We would go with PE where composting is not certain, since a PLA bowl in a landfill bin gains nothing.
