Compressed plies of laminated food-grade paper give the stiffness, and a moisture-resistant treatment keeps it from softening mid-meal. Hot and wet at once is the hardest condition for fibre, and softening halfway through is the failure that puts customers off. Fork spec is judged on stiffness at the tines, spoon spec on moisture resistance at the bowl.

Paper cutlery is not meant to stand in hot liquid, so we do not recommend it for a soup that sits.

Laminated pieces are pressed from stacked paper plies and moulded pieces are formed from fibre pulp, and they feel different in the hand. Laminated is our standard for spoons and forks because the plies give predictable stiffness. Birch wood is a stiffer alternative with its own natural character, and CPLA gives the highest stiffness and heat tolerance while staying compostable.

Yes, with a freezer-stable coating that stays flexible at low temperature instead of going brittle and cracking. The ice cream spoon is a distinct shape too, short and flat with a broad bowl, because it scrapes hard product rather than scooping it. Taster spoons are the smaller high-volume version handed out at the counter.

A spork is an honest compromise where one SKU has to cover bowl food, though it does not suit every dish.

Yes, along the handle, where it stays in view for the whole meal. The printed wrap is the better canvas: an individual sleeve gives far more print area than the utensil itself and covers hygiene at the same time. Taster spoons take full-colour print and are handed out in volume, which makes them a cheap branded item with wide reach.

An embossed handle is the subtle route, with the logo pressed into the laminate.

Spoons run 5.5 inches and sporks 6 inches, measured tip to handle end. Ice cream and taster spoons are shorter, sized to the cup rather than to a plate. Forks match the spoon length so a wrapped set sits evenly in the sleeve.

500 pieces per shape. Prices step down above 1,000 and we produce up to 100,000 pieces in a run, which is the scale taster spoons usually go to. Handle print artwork is set up free.

Wrapped sets are quoted per set rather than per piece.

Standard production is 7 to 10 business days. If the launch is sooner, rush production takes 5 to 7 business days. Samples reach you in 5 to 7 business days so you can try the fork in your hottest dish, and the sample charge comes off the bulk invoice.

Yes, and it goes in the same bin as the food waste, which is the main advantage over plastic. The laminated paper, birch and CPLA versions are all compostable, with the certification marks printed on the sleeve where the stock is certified so the claim is backed rather than assumed. CPLA needs an industrial compost stream.

Natural unprinted stock is cheapest and reads sustainable without any print.
