Die-cut channels grip each shell at the base so two or three filled tacos stand separated instead of falling over. A flat tray cannot do this, which is why the format exists. Clay-coated board is the usual stock because it has the rigidity to hold the slots open under load, and a heavier caliper stops the slots splaying when the tacos are heavy.

Moulded fibre forms slots that grip more securely and is the premium option.

Filled, always. The most common sizing error is measuring an empty shell, then finding a loaded taco will not seat in the slot. Soft shells slump and hard shells crack, so the grip is cut differently for each, and we ask which you serve before cutting the die.

Send a filled taco's width and we will set the slot spacing from that.

Juices run down the shell and collect at the base of each slot, so that is where the PFAS-free barrier is concentrated. Salsa and grease marks show on white board, and kraft hides them, which is why many taquerias choose the natural stock. The rest of the holder stays sealed at the surface.

Like other open formats, it is built for counter service and needs an outer box for delivery.

Flexo in one or two colours on kraft is the most common print, and unprinted kraft is the cheapest and suits street-food positioning. Full CMYK is available for chains that want bright artwork, with Pantone matching across reprints. Grease-tolerant ink keeps the print legible where the juices pool at the slot base.

Compostable marking can be added where the stock is certified.

Two-slot at 6 by 3 by 2 inches and three-slot at 8 by 3 by 2 inches, which map to the usual order sizes. The 2-inch wall gives enough purchase on a standard shell without hiding the filling. Custom slot counts are possible where a combo runs to four.

The holders nest compactly before use, so a case takes very little counter space.

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days, with rush at 5 to 7 business days. Samples arrive in 5 to 7 business days so you can seat a filled taco and check the slot width. The fee for the holder sample is deducted from the production order.

Yes, every version we make is board or fibre with a PFAS-free barrier, so there is no plastic in the holder. Moulded fibre is the choice where a venue has designed plastic out entirely and wants a natural surface. Clay-coated and kraft board are both recyclable where food-soiled paper is accepted.

Where stock is certified compostable we can print the disposal instruction on the base.
