Paper Tray for Food Items.

It is a retail-facing tray that food is packed into and sold from, rather than served on at a counter. The load is vertical, since the trays stack in a chilled cabinet instead of being carried, and damp cabinet conditions reduce board strength, so we specify the caliper for that. Clay-coated board gives a clean surface for labels and sleeves.

Moulded fibre is available where a natural look supports the positioning.

Yes, the rim is a flat consistent flange that clear lidding film seals to. Flange tolerance is tighter than on a service tray, and it has to match your sealing machine's tooling, which we confirm at quote before cutting. Anti-fog film keeps the product visible in a chilled cabinet.

The board carries a moisture-resistant coating because condensation in a cabinet is constant. Heavy products go on rigid board at a higher caliper so a stacked tray does not sag under the weight above it. The trays are built to stack in the cabinet without crushing the tray below.

A damp cabinet is a harder environment than a dry shelf, so tell us the display temperature when you order.

On a printed sleeve or an applied label, leaving the tray surface clean. The mandatory labelling has to be planned in before the artwork is fixed, and the sleeve is the best place for it since it carries brand and the required marks together. A defined date code zone works with your in-house coder.

Full CMYK direct print is available where the tray itself is the brand surface, and kraft suits artisan deli and bakery ranges.

Common sizes are 5 by 4 by 1.5 inches and 8 by 6 by 2 inches, measured internally. Footprint is optimised against the cabinet shelf and the case, since retail trays are judged on how many face per shelf. Wall height follows the product depth.

Orders begin at 500 trays. Above 1,000 units the pricing tiers down, and we run up to 100,000 per order for grocery programmes. Structural drawings and sleeve artwork are free.

Lidding film is quoted separately by the roll, sized to your sealer.

Allow 7 to 10 business days for standard production and 5 to 7 business days on rush. Samples take 5 to 7 business days and are worth running through your sealer before the bulk order. The sample fee is deducted from the production run.
