Pizza Slice Paper Trays.

The wedge follows the slice so the tip is supported where it would otherwise fold. A hot slice on flat board bends at the point and drops its topping, which is the failure the format is built to stop. The footprint matches a standard cut, and the raised edges keep the slice from sliding when it is carried in one hand.

A clamshell version of the same wedge is available where the slice travels rather than being eaten at the counter.

Clay-coated board is the standard, and E-flute steps in for long or heavy slices. The clay coating gives a smooth sealed surface that resists grease soak and prints cleanly, and it is stiff enough for a slice cut from a 14-inch pie. An 18-inch cut is longer and heavier, and flat board flexes under it.

E-flute adds corrugated stiffness at the cost of a slightly softer print. We do not run thin economy board on this format, because rigidity is the whole job.

The barrier is a PFAS-free treatment specified for long contact time. A slice releases oil the moment it lands and sits on the same patch of board until it is finished, so the load per square inch is heavier than on a whole pizza box. The treatment stops oil wicking through to the hand underneath.

Uncoated and PLA-lined versions are available for operators with front-of-house composting.

One or two flexo colours on kraft or white is the common choice, and full CMYK is available for display. The tray is small and held in view for the whole slice, so a logo and a line of text carry well. White clay-coated stock gives a brighter surface for photographic artwork where the tray is part of the counter display.

We use grease-tolerant ink systems so the print stays legible as the board takes oil. Compostable stock can carry the certification mark on-pack.

Common wedges are 9 by 7 inches and 11 by 8 inches, sized to the pie the slice is cut from. A slice from a 14-inch pizza and one from an 18-inch pizza have different lengths and widths at the crust, so tell us the pie size and the number of cuts. The tray is measured along the slice and across the crust end.

Trays nest flat behind the counter, so a larger size costs shelf space only when it is in use.

Custom slice trays begin at 500 pieces. Pricing tiers once the order passes 1,000, and a busy slice counter tends to reorder in larger multiples because the tray goes out with every sale. Up to 100,000 can be scheduled in a single production run.

Unprinted kraft is the cheapest way to meet the minimum if the print budget is not there yet.

Allow 7 to 10 business days for the production run, or 5 to 7 on the rush schedule. The die and the flexo plate are made in the first few days, and repeat orders skip that step. A sample tray arrives in 5 to 7 business days so you can load a slice and check the tip support before committing.

Whatever you pay for the sample is credited back against the production order.

Yes, uncoated kraft and PLA-lined board are both compostable options. The PLA lining gives grease resistance that breaks down in a commercial composting stream, which suits venues that already collect food waste at the front of house. Plain uncoated kraft composts without any lining and takes a little oil into the fibre instead.

Where the stock is certified, the disposal mark prints on the tray. The standard clay-coated tray goes into paper recycling.
