Printed Spices Packaging
Volatile oils and fine powder — a barrier problem and a sift problem at once.
Ground spice loses aroma fast and finds every weak seam. The pack has to hold volatiles in, keep moisture out, and dispense a controlled amount.

Every detail. Intentional.
Volatiles escape fast
Which is what a barrier holds.
Fine powder sifts
Seal integrity above granular standards.
Moisture cakes it
Barrier works in both directions.
Dispensing is designed
Shaker, spoon or pour.
Resealable for the cupboard
Used across months.
Light degrades colour
Opacity where it matters.
Built like architecture.
Each Custom Printed Spices Packaging is an engineered object — measured, dieline-cut, and hand-wrapped to spec. Below: the standard build sheet.

Sizing & dieline.
Every Custom Printed Spices Packaging is made to your fill, not pulled off a shelf. A pouch is quoted width × length, plus the gusset that lets it stand — tell us what goes inside and how much of it, and we return a measured spec, free, before you commit to anything.
A pouch is sized by what goes in it, not by outside dimensions. Give us the fill weight and, if you can, the bulk — 500 g of granola needs far more bag than 500 g of powder.
We quote width × length, then the bottom gusset depth that sets the footprint. Three figures, and the gusset is the one most often left off.
Zipper or heat seal only, valve or no valve, window or full barrier. These change the film and the bag height, so they belong in the spec rather than added afterwards.
✦ Not sure of your size? Send us the product — we measure it and build the dieline.
Pricing & minimums.
Custom Printed Spices Packaging is priced per specification rather than from a fixed list — the same box in two different finishes can land at very different numbers. Below is what actually moves the price, so you can shape the spec before you request a quote.
The single biggest lever. Unit cost falls sharply as volume rises, because setup and tooling spread across more pieces.
Board weight and stock choice change both the raw material cost and the shipping weight of the finished run.
Foil, spot UV, embossing and soft-touch each add a pass on press. One or two lift the box; five compound the cost.
Full-bleed print inside and out costs more than a one-sided design on natural stock.
Foam, moulded pulp, velvet pillows, magnets and ribbon are priced per piece on top of the box itself.
Standard production is the base rate. Rush moves you up the production queue and carries a surcharge.

What brands say.
“The best packaging partner we've ever worked with. Every box feels like an event.”
“Our unboxing experience went from forgettable to remarkable. The magnetic close is chef's kiss.”
“Fast turnaround, flawless quality, and the design support is genuinely exceptional.”
Questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Custom Printed Spices Packaging.
Yes, and it is one of the more consequential specification decisions in this category.
Whole spice keeps its aromatic oils locked inside intact plant cell structure. Very little surface area is exposed to air, so whole peppercorns or cumin seeds stay potent for a year or more in reasonable packaging.
Ground spice has had those cells ruptured. The exposed surface area is enormous by comparison, and volatile oils begin escaping and oxidising immediately. Even well packaged, ground spice is noticeably flatter within months.
So for the same stated shelf life, ground product needs a genuinely better barrier — realistically foil rather than metallised film. Specifying both to the same standard means one of them is wrong, and it is usually the ground one.
If you sell both, it is worth stating different best-before periods rather than applying one across the range.
You can, and it is a real trade-off rather than a free addition.
Light — both UV and visible — breaks down the aromatic compounds that give spice its character, and fades colour. A window is a hole in your light barrier, and everything behind it degrades faster than the rest of the pack.
If you want one:
- Keep it small. A narrow strip shows grind and colour without exposing the bulk of the contents.
- Position it away from the base, where product settles and sits longest.
- Accept a shorter date than the same product in an opaque pouch.
For fast-moving retail spice this is usually fine. For premium single-origin product with a long shelf life, we would generally advise a fully opaque pack and using print to communicate quality instead.
