Sushi Containers with Lids.

Chilled rice and fish give off moisture, and on an untreated lid it condenses into droplets that hide the arrangement. The anti-fog grade carries a treatment that spreads that condensation into a thin, invisible film instead. The product stays visible from the moment the pack leaves the chiller to the moment it is opened.

We do not supply untreated clear lids on this format. A fogged window undoes the one job a sushi pack has, which is to let the arrangement sell itself.

A dark base is a merchandising decision: fish, rice and garnish read far better against black than against white. The base carries the colour and the clear lid sits over it. Most operators specify black or a deep colour for that reason.

Where a plastic-free base is wanted, we mould the same footprint in natural fibre. It gives up some contrast, but the lid still shows the food and the tray composts where the local stream accepts it.

Separate wells hold wasabi, ginger and soy away from the rice so their moisture does not sour it in transit. The wells are formed into the base or supplied as a drop-in insert, depending on the footprint. Either way the rolls sit in a shallow main cavity and the condiments sit apart from them.

The pack travels flat rather than upright, so the closure has to stay shut on its own. For pre-packed chilled retail we add a breakaway tab or a sealed band for tamper evidence.

Branding goes on a printed sleeve or band, because the window itself cannot carry print without hiding the food. The band wraps the pack with your name, the product name and the mandatory label copy, leaving the lid clear. A matte sleeve suits chef-led ranges and a kraft sleeve suits fibre-based lines.

If you want something on the lid itself, a small spot-printed logo in one corner is the limit. Anything larger blocks the view.

The two footprints most operators order are 7 by 5 by 1.75 inches and 9 by 5 by 2 inches. Both are shallow by design, holding a single layer of rolls or nigiri. The smaller size covers a lunch pack and the larger suits a fuller box with condiment wells.

Lids and bases are specified together so the closure engages properly, and the footprints stack in the chiller.

Production starts at 500 units on this format. That covers a single footprint with one sleeve design, and pricing steps down once the quantity passes 1,000. Runs go up to 100,000 for multi-site operators.

Mixing two footprints on one order is possible, but each is treated as its own run against the minimum.

Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 business days from artwork approval, with a rush option at 5 to 7 business days. Samples of the lid, base and sleeve arrive in 5 to 7 business days so you can check fog performance in your own chiller before committing.

The sample fee comes off the production invoice, and delivery is USA-wide.

The lid is PET, one of the most widely collected plastics, and we can run it in RPET with recycled content at the same clarity. The dark base is either PET as well or moulded fibre for operators moving away from plastic. Anti-fog treatment is a surface finish and does not affect the recycling stream.
